COMBINATIONAL MODEL / EXPERIMENT TWO

This project is developed to investigate the architectural spaces produced by a series of cantilevers. We developed our system based on the previous experiments by replacing the balls (which acted as pivots for the cantilevers) with I-shaped columns. The cables were replaced with poles carrying tension forces. Platforms were hung from the extreme cantilevers with two sets of frames each.

This created interlocking spaces hanging from the cantilevers. All the columns are offset so that there is no core to the structure. The architecture is to be approached from a courtyard, above which the top cantilever hangs.
