In the combinatoral model, the idea of the “sandwich” piece was expanded upon by considering it as an inhabitable space. The overlaps that were created through the interconnection of the pieces were extruded downwards to create load bearing stereotomic walls, onto which horizontal slabs were attached to create a floor plan.
