This project explores a bending structural condition and the kinds of spaces that might be created in an extended canopy-like condition. Our proposal utilizes arches in compression, counterbalanced by cables in tension, to create a cantilevering mechanism that can be repeated to create unique open spaces. The platforms are supported at the equilibrium position of the two forces. This project employs this cantilevering mechanism to create an outdoor public pavilion.
