Our Combinatorial Model draws formal and organizational inspiration from the Exhibition Center of Zhengzhou Linkong Biopharmaceutical Park designed by WSP Architects, which combines the orbital structures of our previous models to inhabit the human scale. The Exhibition Center emerges as a series of circular masses wrapped in a band of shuttered aluminum panels, stabilized by a central core. In our model, we respond to our precedent by situating the rings around a central structure supported by vertical interlocking columns. Our model references our previous work by “floating” the rings from a woven tensile system to evoke the circulatory sensation of suspension. The structure contains outer circular rings on varying levels with a central multi level structure supported by a series of flat columns.
