Reflecting on the lack of stability of our Reciprocal Model, in this Combinatorial Model, we kept the conceptual idea and the triangular form from the previous practice, but transformed the triangular cylindrical modular (walls) into triangular trusses system. In this system, each module is constructed with three triangular element and combined together as a isosceles trapezoid. We adopted rigid connection for each vertex of the triangular element. Compared with our previous cylindrical modular, the triangular truss modular is lighter and more stable. The load applied at the top would travel down diagonally and intersect at the bottom. By combining two module, the forces meets at every intersection point and release to the lower level. The horizontal bars hold the diagonal bars together. For the final iteration, we played with levels and views, the open spaces created by our triangular truss system provided multiple visions for public activities.
