Our group was interested in investigating how through a repeated folding process, a simple geometric surface can become sophisticated organic forms. Our ideas and folding methods were inspired by Tomoko Fuse. We developed a system of folding that created a double spiral joined through a central spine. Our variations consisted of varying the geometric surface on which the forms are based and varying the directions of folding so that the spirals were either twisting in the same direction or in opposite directions.
