A thick spandex fabric sewn into a fitted tablecloth-like form wraps perfectly around the edges of the plane used in this experiment. A reinforced wooden arch with hooks to attach the fabric(instead of a foam strip, which was weak and limiting in earlier iterations) allows tension to be added to the fabric as it wraps around the elevated platform, producing two distinct, enveloped or partially enveloped conditions above and below the platform.
