A thick spandex fabric sewn into a fitted tablecloth-like form wraps perfectly around the edgesof the plane used in this experiment. A reinforced wooden arch with hooks to attach the fabric(instead of a foam strip, which was weak and limiting in earlier iterations) allows tension to beadded to the fabric as it wraps around the elevated platform, producing two distinct, enveloped orpartially enveloped conditions above and below the platform.
