For the membrane model, we investigated the possibilities of space with the connection of tension forces. Our goal is to form membrane structures with two or three pieces of parallel fabric. After multiple experiments on different kinds of materials and fabrics, we decide to use mesh as it creates the desired tension curves. To connect the pieces of mesh which creates tension, we tied the fabric with strings so that the attached area can be contracted to an extreme, minimal point. The variations are based on a three-by-three grid, where the mesh is connected at the middle four points. An acrylic frame is designed to tie the square fabric at four ends and act as a measure guide.
