RECIPROCAL MODEL / EXPERIMENT ELEVEN
The model analyzes the installation Arcos by Jordi Gali that uses wooden boards linked together with cables suspended in the air using the principle of tensegrity (floating compression). The stability is achieved by the reciprocal relationship between the stereotomic elements (wooden boards) and the continuous tension.
How our idea differs from Arcos is that none of the stereotomic elements touch the ground, but rather are anchored in the air, creating an effect of continuous floating walls.
