RECIPROCAL MODEL / EXPERIMENT TWO

The model seeks to represent the reciprocal relationship between compression and tension forces through a series of repetitive planes. These planes, though seemingly interlocking, do not rely on a subsidiary mechanism to achieve equilibrium. Instead, the planes capitalize on their concentric relationship and coinciding form, intersecting through voids and creating multiple points of contact. During these moments of union, the planes, through just their own form, exert reciprocal tension and compression forces and elicit physical equilibrium that appears to be autonomous from its environment.
