RECIPROCAL MODEL / EXPERIMENT SEVEN

In this project we decided to incorporate some key ideas from our previous equilibrium model assignment. Therefore, we explored the relationship between the rotation of various platforms and the centrality of where our main structural support terminates into the base. To do this we created a main column-like structure – a vertical “container” of sorts – to hold the various platforms. This element is then wedged between two ¼” wood dowels (one 2” tall and the other 4” tall). Additionally, we integrated notches in the sides where small wood ledges could slide in so the platforms had a point of contact to the central container. This entire component acted as our main compressive force.
