RECIPROCAL MODEL / EXPERIMENT EIGHT

Learning from our equilibrium model, we wanted to focus on forming tensile and compressive relationships between platforms using a set kit of parts. To maintain continuity we replicated the mirror platform from our initial model and created four pairs of various equilateral triangles. We initially used cardboard and styrofoam to test different ways of anchoring the base triangles, ones that rest against the ground plane and experienced the most weight. This led us to create a one inch orthogonal grid, one eighth inch deep, to serve as a way to stabilize the base triangles. In addition we used four pushpins, at the cardinal points, as hooks for our tensile strings.
