RECIPROCAL MODEL / EXPERIMENT TEN

Davenport, Anna
Kaya, Samed
Hollister, Juliet A.

This project uses the underlying logic of an angled cantilever system to produce a series of horizontally suspended platforms. The idea of reciprocality is explored by experimenting with concepts of angle extremes, top-heaviness and weight redistribution. Using the notion of incrementally complex supports from Phase 1, this phase developed a set of modular elements that allowed for both deeper exploration of configuration potentials as well as greater control over the composition of each system variation. In order to achieve enough reliability in the building process, parts were tailored in a set of predetermined dimensions.
