RECIPROCAL MODEL  / EXPERIMENT ONE

Our model features four wood sticks attached to a series of 4 V shape arms via multiple strings similar to our first project. The movements of the arms will be locked as a pair due to the gear structure at the bottom of the arm. The arms have the tendency to fall down, thus creating compression force on the strings. The strings that connect the wood sticks to the arms then acts as the tensile force that pulls the sticks towards the arm. At the same time, the strings connected to either ends of two sticks would pull the sticks together while regulating the direction of the force. Thus, the two forces will act with each other through the placement of the strings and form an interconnected relationship throughout the model. The wooden stick can also tilt to reflect the direction of the force.
