After our last exploration we realized that the strength in our component came in the fact that we were creating a diagrid transfer of forces that occurred via the direct transference of forces through a set pathway. Similar to water seeping through holes in the ground, our forces were guided by the system we created. In this exploration then, instead of creating this system on separate levels and uniting them via the platforms, we decided we wanted to create a system that was whole and could be a part of the structure’s form. Upon exploring some references we decided that the best way to accomplish this was by making the system that we created part of the structure’s facade, more of a chidori-style system, and by making cantilevers that weren’t forced onto the structure.
