EQUILIBRIUM MODEL / EXPERIMENT SEVEN

This project showcases how equilibrium is achieved through a linear prototypical module that is composed of compression and tension forces. With wood as the primary material, we developed a design strategy that consists of a kit of parts of adaptable elements on a gridded plane that can be rearranged and reconfigured to generate increasing complexity in the structure. This kit of parts includes vertical dowels that are all the same length, horizontal beams that come in three different lengths, and square bases that allow the structure to stay fixed on the grid.
