In this project, we used black fabric ribbons and a grided acrylic sheet as a base. We set up the length of the ribbon into different categories, varying from 3 to 13 inches. Slots on the acrylic board create horizontal and vertical grids at a variation of one inch. We created a clipping mechanism to easily attach and detach the fabric from the acrylic system while maintaining a strong degree to control and repeatability. This was important to counter the soft malleability of the material.
