HANGING MODEL / EXPERIMENT EIGHT

Inspired by Heinz Isler’s Hanging Membrane Model, our group wished to explore shell structures in our hanging model. Our group discussed various materials, from mesh fabric to chainmail, that could generate these geometric, form-finding explorations. We settled on using chainmail because it holds a significant weight, allowing it to fall when a tensile force is applied naturally.
