This exploration aims to bridge the speculative, physical, and digital simulation of a hanging, form-passive membrane that creates a vaulted shell. Initially we began with researching existing shell structures and sketching potential iterations, our team solidified a final form to recreate. This chosen iteration was modeled and simulated utilizing Grasshopper. Our team proceeded with the hanging membrane model, which attempts to recreate the digital. The physical model follows the relaxed form of the membrane and the way the membrane meets the surface in the digital model, facilitating a circular profile through 'buttons'.
