MEMBRANE MODEL / EXPERIMENT NINE

The conceptualization of the project stemmed from the merger of not a modular framework defining the model but the human body and ubiquitous materials potentially found on a construction site. Although we experimented with many different types of fabric, including fishing net, nylon, and rolls of spandex, we settled on a king-size jersey bed sheet. Because of the size of the project and the lack of modularity, we found the most successful form-finding tool was trial and error with multiple participants and documenting the process with photography. This allowed us to do more than six iterations while making each iteration replicable upon examination of the photograph.
