The umbrella structure is composed of wooden dowels and universal PVC components acting as multi-directional nodal connectors. The geometry is defined by an inverted truncated cone, creating a lightweight canopy that cantilevers from a central trunk.
Four structural posts are set at 45-degree angles and drilled securely into the wooden base. These inclined posts stabilize the vertical core, providing both lateral support and resistance against overturning forces.
As the canopy transitions from its dense central core to a more delicate perimeter, pyramidal extensions are added above the uppermost flat grid to increase stiffness and maintain the conical profile.
A woven fabric membrane is integrated as a secondary tensile element. The fabric is threaded through the upper grid and stretched to the four outer corner points, creating a continuous surface that distributes tension evenly across the frame.
