Our project consists of six models built from acrylic 30, 60, 90, triangles, notched wooden dowels, and wooden cylinder weights. Cylinders fit into holes in the triangles, which are suspended on dowels fixed perpendicular to the base. Each model explores rotation and balance, with cylinders tracing a “figure 8” path when viewed from above. Iterations adjust angles and levels to show continuous motion with added weights and counter-balancing. Stability comes from friction holding cylinders in triangles, compression forces pressing dowels to the base, and tensile forces from notches keeping the system in equilibrium.
