Our model explores compression structures through physical form-finding using a stretch membrane system that relates the geometry of a fixed bounding box and a recurring weight element. We selected a ring configuration to distribute forces along a nylon-spandex membrane, generating compression-based geometries when inverted. Metal rings were introduced as weights to create concentric deformations in the membrane, which allowed us to manipulate load intensity and distribution, showcasing how changes in load position and quantity affect structural form. The contrast between the stacked rings (flattened peaks) and the suspended rings (steep peaks), emphasizes the difference between narrow and concentrated loads.
