PROCESS
This project explores a suspended fabric shell whose form emerges through adjustable corner tension. The fabric is anchored to a cubic frame and manipulated with a manual pulley system, producing compressive, vaulted geometries as each corner shifts in height. The frame consists of a plywood base and vertical dowels braced to form a rigid cube, with screws at intervals providing attachment points. A gridded, two-way stretch polyester fabric connects via fishing lines and acrylic discs, allowing four elevations per corner and sixteen variations overall. As gravity acts on the surface, tension redistributes, generating visible stress lines that organize compression and shape the vault.
