The idea behind this model takes the spatial potential of the bulbous forms we explored in our first assignment with the pills by looking at inflatable membranes and how the void of an inflatable balloon could be controlled or manipulated beyond its existing envelope as an extension of our first pill exercise. By constructing a rigid bounding box and confining the balloon in various quadrants with yarn along the edges of the box, we could confine the expanding balloon in different ways that allowed for new form-finding possibilities. This allowed for a more systematic approach to controlling the inflatable membrane.
