This project investigates the sculptural and structural potential of membrane logic when liberated from traditional, planar constraints. A further exploration of our hanging modeled, which denied the bounds of a box, our mesh system seeks a finalized result that does not rest of a flat datum. This study utilizes a 3D-printed node and componentry, 3mm acrylic rods, 1mm o-rings, and generic elastic mesh to introduce a randomized, three-dimensional surface condition. By rejecting the bounding box type the mesh evolves from the inside rather than the outside. From the central node, nine circular supported components rise to stretch a mesh of predetermined size into various contortions. The variability in rod projection from node, component height and component diameter at the mesh intersection create infinite possibility of a structure that responds to the x, y, and z axis in all directions.
