How can manipulation of thin elements achieve load-bearing strength and lateral stability? Whereas our first model isolated the elements of a structure into its components of tension (cables) and compression (sticks), our new model utilizes thin steel rods to do both and achieve lateral stability and load-bearing strength. We triangulated these components along rings (resembling circular trusses) using different density of members, distances between rings, and sizes of trusses to test how tall and strong the structure could be.
