For our final project, we wanted to use our third iteration from project two as our starting point as we liked how the structural system was optimized. We explored how our model would be constructed with wood by using two different notching systems in our platforms and our walls. Due to the interlocking in the platform, we created a very sturdy base on which we could lay floor panels over. For the notches in the walls, there is a bottom and top piece that surround the platforms at a point where the horizontal and vertical timbers intersect. This joining system creates a solid wall system to support the platforms.
